Prehistoric civilizations, their secrets largely unraveled, recede into the mists of time. Enigmatic archaeological remains suggest the existence of advanced societies predating known historical civilizations, leaving behind complex and currently inexplicable artifacts. These include the legendary lost continent of Atlantis, referenced by Plato in his dialogues *Timaeus* and *Critias*. Geologic theories, such as Alfred Wegener’s theory of continental drift (1912), which explain significant climatic shifts and sea-level rises, must be considered.
